Robin McLay

Founder and President

Robin is a leading expert in fundraising, partnership development, innovation, international economic development, environmental innovation, Indigenous economic development, education and social innovation. With a proven track record of success, he has held various leadership roles, including Regional Director of Fulbright West, Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of Fulbright, and Head of Research and Strategy at The MasterCard Foundation. He has also held senior positions at Harvard University, where he served as Executive Director of the Harvard University Native American Program, and at McGill University, where he led the Institute for the Study of International Development.

In addition to his work in academia, Robin has worked at Canada's International Development Agency (Global Affairs Canada), where he served as Director of Research and Director of Democratic Institutions and Conflict. He has also worked at the Canada School of Public Service, where he headed the Pacific and Yukon Regional Office and directed the International Partnership Program. Robin has also worked closely with philanthropists, impact investors, and private foundations, leveraging his expertise to drive positive social and economic change. As a Research Associate with the Harvard Project on Indigenous Governance and Development, he has contributed to cutting-edge research on Indigenous economic development and governance. He also advises think tanks and policy research institutes, including the African Center for Economic Transformation and the Partnership for Economic Policy. He works closely with the Boston based Consensus Building Institute that is tied to the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program.

Robin holds graduate degrees from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and the London School of Economics, and an undergraduate degree from McGill University. He has received numerous appointments and affiliations, including Founding Member of the Harvard School of Public Health's Leadership Council, Senior Associate with the MIT-Tufts University Lean Research Initiative, and Board Director of the Fulbright Alumni Association, among others. His expertise and leadership have made him a sought-after advisor and mentor, and he continues to work with global think tanks, private foundations, and philanthropy networks.
